Artist's Notes: Frog's Breath

Another of my new blends coming September 10th. Green fog, green mist, mysterious tinctures from a curious cabinet —these are the visuals that inspired my new Frog’s Breath perfume. Heavily green aromas in perfumery are most often associated with the spring and summer months, but here I wanted to do something with the “Halloween greens” and the greens from the darkly beautiful side. I’ve also watched The Nightmare Before Christmas so many times that its symbolism is permanently etched into my subconscious and definitely has leaked out into the inspiration for this blend. This is an earthy, foggy, green perfume....

Artist's Notes: The Gables

The Gables is a new blend launching this week inspired by The House Of Seven Gables in Salem, Massachusetts. It’s one of my favorite historic homes in New England and given that so many will not be able to make it to Salem this year for the festivities, I wanted to bottle a little bit of that magic. Artist's Notes: The Last Carousel

a submerged carouselhauled from the sea;a flood of horsesin salted reins, music welded to a tide, this is how you will be stalled from hell. -Kalliope Amorphous  I have such a complex relationship with each blend that I make and I think about and obsess over them probably more than anything I work on. Yet, for brevity’s sake I try to keep it short and sweet in the listing descriptions! Many people just want to know the notes and don’t necessarily want to hear diatribes from my Dr. Frankenstein mind about creation process, but with this new collection coming up I thought...

How To Wear Perfume Oils

How To Wear Perfume Oils

If you are used to alcohol-based perfumes, you will find that perfume oils offer a different experience. Because oils interact more closely with body chemistry and unfold themselves differently, following these suggestions can help you make the most of your experience with oils.  🍁Perfume oils do not unfold their complexity when experienced directly from the bottle. If you attempt to gauge the aroma of a perfume oil by smelling it from the bottle, your experience will not be accurate. Always test perfumes on your body for the full experience. Apply first to your pulse points (the inner wrists, the base of the throat, behind...
